NFL Picks: NY Attorney General Investigating NFL Lockout

NFL Lockout and NFL Picks News: NY attorney general to investigate the lockout NFL

New York, the Attorney General has launched an antitrust investigation into the lock-out of the NFL, requesting information from the league and the players' association on the economic impact of the impasse of the work of professional football.

“While we are hopeful that the NFL and its players will reach an agreement to end the ongoing lockout in the near future, this office will take all appropriate steps to protect New Yorkers, many of whom rely on the significant economic activity generated by the NFL,” Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Thursday.

Assistant Attorney General Richard Schwartz wrote this week for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell of said lock-out "inflict significant economic damage across the state," from the loss of training camps in northern State and the Attorney is required to investigate whether it is legal.

“In particular, we are deeply troubled by the possible antitrust implications of the NFL’s conduct under the New York State Donnelly Act, as well as certain contractual violations it may have prompted,” Schwartz wrote.

In addition, retail, income, employment and the contract also called for within 10 days of all documents for the NFL since 2008: the question of whether the block of players, or pause the game, a real block, which began March 12, and the decertification of the NFL Players Association as the representative of the players' in the negotiations.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league will review the letter from its lawyer, and react.

The fundamental question is whether the antitrust 32 football teams functioned as a cartel, because there is no place for players to go. Under New York law, the Attorney General seeks triple damages estimated at several million dollars for players and companies in New York as hotels, restaurants and pharmacies.

The player and the team owners 'representatives' have gathered in New York on Thursday, hopes to resolve the blockage.

While the New York Jets and New York Giants play their home games in New Jersey, his summer training camps are usually held in the state of Cortland and Albany, respectively, which attracts thousands of fans. The summer camp is Buffalo Bills in Rochester, their games in suburban Buffalo.

Schwartz notes that the Jets have canceled their camp in State College at Cortland. This alone creates an estimated $ 4500000 a year of activity, according to the prosecutor's office.

NFL Players Association, Schwartz has asked the names of all team members live in New York. The players filed a Federal antitrust lawsuit in Minneapolis against the league just started blocking.

MLB Picks: Los Angeles Angels vs Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Picks

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Los Angeles Angels MLB Picks:  The Tinseltown war continues on Sunday night in MLB betting action, as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match on this three game set.

The Dodgers should be getting some good news on Sunday night with the return of Rafael Furcal to the lineup. The team’s shortstop has missed the last 26 games with an oblique injury, and he should be able to step back in nicely to help out a lineup that badly needs the aid. There’s also a big time bugaboo to overcome in the form of a 3-8 record over the course of the last 11 games against their cross town rivals, which is going to heap even more pressure on the backs of the Dodgers in this one.
